CALL FOR CREW

CREW APPLICATION DUE: January 15, 2021 - Are you new to the cast iron world and want to learn more about the practices and the community? Does the virtual nature of the conference allow for you to participate in ways you have not been able to in the past? Are you a working professional looking for a more integral role in the orchestration and coordination of the NCCCIAP? This is your opportunity! The Steering Committee for the 2021 National Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art and Practices is seeking individuals for a unique opportunity to apply their talents toward a virtual conference. Due to the extraordinary circumstances that have affected us all, the conference will be held virtually in its entirety. Though this presents some challenges, it is also an incredible opportunity to spread the talents, experiences, knowledge, and joy of cast iron art to a larger audience by bolstering the community’s online presence and provides a new stage for creative potential in the metal arts. The unprecedented nature of this conference provides a unique opportunity to learn and grow together as an arts community, to creative problem solve and reflect on the nature of what we do. We hope that you will consider joining us in this uniquely special moment. As Crew, your registration fee will be waived! Crew would be responsible for:

  • Creation and Promotion of Online Content
  • Active Participation in Virtual Meetings with the Steering Committee
  • Technical Assistance during demonstrations, workshops, and panel discussions
  • Work directly with Sloss Crew in Virtual Assistance to Live Performances
  • Organization of panels, demonstrations, promotional content, etc.
  • General Assistance and learning from seasoned iron arts mentors
Crew members are expected to be available and competent for the specific task(s) they apply to assist. This means dedicating time and energy to the betterment and expansion of the conference - potentially missing other activities happening simultaneously. Please complete the linked Google Form, including the submission of a resume (or CV) and a letter of intent addressed to the 2021 NCCCIAP Steering Committee by January 15th, 2021.
